Introduction
Spring is in the air! We have a lot to look forward to in the days ahead:
OBOB Regional Competition 3/18Heritage is hosting the competition for Region 2B in this year's Oregon Battle of the Books! Heritage competitors and teams of 3rd-5th grade students from nearly two dozen other elementary schools in the region will be facing off for the right to represent their schools at the state championship. Volunteers and spectators welcome! For more information contact library/media specialist Michelle Barnes at mbarnes@woodburnsd.org or at (503) 981-2600.
Book Fair 3/20-3/23Spring Book Fair happens the week of March 20th-March 23rd. Students may visit the book fair in the library during school hours on March 20th and 21st, or during student-led conferences on March 22nd and 23rd. When you buy from the book fair, you celebrate students' love of reading, AND you support our library/media center at the same time. See you there!Student-Led Conferences 3/22 and 3/23
As part of our continued focus on increasing student voice, we are excited to continue with student-led conferences on March 22-23. Expect your child to be the star of the show, leading the conversation about what they are proud of, what they are excited about, and what their learning goals are for the rest of the year. We definitely want both you and your child present for conferences! Teachers will be reaching out to schedule your conference during March 22-23 at a time that works best for you. There will be no classes for students on these two days.
Spring Break 3/24-April 2
March 19th - April 2nd is a holiday. School is closed to students. Students return to school on Monday, April 3rd.
If you have questions about OBOB, the Book Fair, student-led conferences, or anything else happening at Heritage, please feel free to call us at (503) 981-2600 or email us at srawson@woodburnsd.org. We'd love to hear from you!
